SECTION I. General Rules
i. Be active! I can't stress this enough; when you join a site, don't join just to die off in two days. If you're going to do that, then don't even bother to join. The point isn't to get as many numbers on the members list as possible, it's to get as many members as possible to have as much fun as possible. So if you fall inactive, you can expect to be deleted if you don't warn us before hand.
ii. Do not join--- Just to advertise! Please, that's a waste of our time. If we find that you have joined, and the first thing you do is post your advertisement in our board, then you will be deleted and your advertisement removed. We have a guest friendly advertisement board for a reason. We don't want people joining to advertise and then never coming on again. This can be related to rule I, i.
iii. Be nice to everyone. Honestly, I hate when members are mean to guests or new members. If you can't be nice to them, then don't speak to them. We don't want anyone's feelings getting hurt, especially on a website. If anyone is being mean to you, come to a staff member for help and we'll deal with the problem any way we see fit.
iv. Is someone spamming/trolling, or threatening to hack the site, in the c-box? Just ignore them, please. They're not worth the effort of even opening your eyes to see them, so just talk amongst yourself and let the trolls whine about their envies and own blind arrogance. When a staff member gets on, they will deal with the offender appropriately.
v. Stealing? Did someone take something of copyrighted material that does not belong to them? report it to us, and, taking in consideration the offense, we will report them or ban them as necessary. Do not openly challenge the person because that can lead to more problems that we really don't need on the site at the time.
vi. Real life issues? Well, we all have them, there's no doubt about it. But please, don't come on and complain about your life for hours and expect everyone to be sympathetic and caring. Other people have issues as well that they don't bring into the c-box, so by common courtesy, don't bring yours. Feel free, however, to make a journal or even a story rant about it.
SECTION II. Character Rules
i. One account per character! This is to avoid cluttering and confusion while in threads, [scroll down to role-playing rules if you don't understand this]. Your account should, along with any other things you want to add, have at least one part of the applied character's name in it. This account is "Beige" because I role-play Beige using this one. Simple, right? You may, however, have as many characters and therefore, accounts, as you would like.
ii. Your character may only be either human [no animal characteristics], shape shifter [transform into an animal], or chimera [human with animal characteristics]. However, it is possible for these cross genes to occur, but, you are only able to create a shapeshifter/chimera crossbreed if you buy one. A crossbreed is a shapeshifter who, when in human form, has those animal's characteristics.
iii. One animal per person. Meaning, your character cannot transform/have parts of more than one animal. So if your character transforms into a jackal, they cannot transform into anything other than a jackal [except back into human form, of course]. This is to prevent major god-modding and power playing.
iv. Your characters still have to look semi-realistic! If your human was born with bright green hair, than that's not allowed. You are perfectly allowed to have a person who has dyed the hair in a strange colour. When transforming, though, the fur colour or skin colour will be the same as what it would be in the animal's natural form.
v. Be realistic, please. I highly doubt that your character was shoved to the ground and forced to watch their parents be murdered brutally right before their eyes. I know I'm going to need to be extremely lenient on the sob-story rule because of the experiments, but there was some things that just go above and behind idiocy.
vi. Your character isn't perfect. They must have some flaws. Don't just say "he's the most amazing person ever. He is PERFECT" or "no one can find anything wrong with her!" That's bull crap. I don't' want to see you posting mary-sue/gary-stu bios. That's just stupid and there is a word for it. Conceit.
SECTION III. Role-Playing Rules
i. The word count minimum on this site is 200 words! If you can post more, great! But it must be over 200. It isn't hard to get 200, and if you have some doubt about reaching that count, or if you aren't sure how many words you have and don't want to count them one by own, use the word counter at the bottom of the screen. If you need role-playing help feel free to ask some staff members.
ii. You may use whatever layout you want, but when you post, make sure the font colour is readable with the current skin. It shouldn't be hard because we typically have one skin at a time. [If the skin changes after you post and it's unreadable, don't worry about it]. You may use whatever size you want [see note], and whatever justification and blockquote you need. Try not to use more than three blockquotes because that's way too narrow.
iii. If you forget to log in to the account of the correct character, as in, you have two accounts, and one is Marcus, and the other Cleo, and you post with Cleo using Marcus's account, don't worry about it. If you find it a really big deal, just copy the post and logout and then back in to the correct account to repost it. Mistakes happen, and we're not going to yell at you. Unless it becomes commonplace, and you are constantly using the wrong account for the wrong character.
iv. Please use the correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, etc. when posting on the site. If you're trying to capitalize things, then do so, but if you're style is everything being lowercase, then we won't bother you about it. No one wants to read a post where things are spelled like this: "we arf goiung tew the forest", or something like that. Don't completely rely on spell check, because if you're trying to spell something like 'trust' and you misspell it, and select the word that looks right, it might not be. You could select something like "trussed" so make sure to proof read everything before posting.
v. Power playing and god modding is not allowed on this site. I cannot get this point clear enough. We don't want to see "Jason struck Emily in the face, making a dark red line across her jaw". Unless the other member has agreed, or anything of that sort, you cannot autohit/auto-hurt/auto-jump on, etc. They have the right to judge some but not all of the attacks. God modding is when they are invincible and dodge everything. That's not allowed either. Let your character get banged up a little if you're fighting someone else's. No one's perfect.
NOTE: Some people's computers or eyesight are incapable of reading size=1 posts. Just keep this in mind when you are posting with someone. Including me, some are unable to see those posts, or if we try, we get headaches far before we finish reading. Be courteous when you are role-playing with a person who can't read that small, and just, for the time being, don't use size=1 if that's okay.
